Nirvana for Knitters

I finally made it to the another LYS in my area and I absolutely love this one. It located in Old Town Alexandria. It's just about a 5 minute drive from DC, although it took a bit longer as it seems that I head out in the midst of Rolling Thunder (all the Harleys cruising past the monuments.)

Knit Happens, 127A North Washington Street, Alexandria, VA.

It's a beautiful place, that draws you in with it's pink walls and wonderful selection of yarns. There are several comfy chairs in the front, an excellent place to peruse their vast selection of books and patterns. Quite inviting to just sit and knit.

They have an excellent selection of Noro, Colinette, (a section of wall devoted to Giotto), Rowan and so many others that caused me to stare (and drool.) They have even started their own hand dyed yarns, Laughing Lizard, and have several types ranging from thick/thin wools to soft/silky blends. And all it such vibrant colors.

The place is great and the staff is excellent. As soon as I walked in the door, they recognized my Watermelon Booga, and Noro colorway.

Felted Watermelon

It's almost ready for felting or fulling, whatever. I 'm working on the i-Cord, which is going pretty quick, but not quick enough, as I had hoped to get the bag into the wash this evening.

I love this color. Noro Kureyon # 95. The color of a Watermelon. It's not exactly my style, but it feels like summer.

I'll post pictures tomorrow.
