the continental gryffindor

Thanks so much for all the sweet comments about my pup. Mandy should be blushing by all the attention, especially from the strangers that come up to us from off the street. I think it has something to do with the ears...

So far she's been quite a handful. Pretty good, most of the time.

As for my knitting, I've decided to change the way I knit. I want to pick, not throw. I want to knit intarsia and fair isle. I want to knit faster. Unfortunately my fingers aren't very cooperative, but what I've got so far, I like. A ribbed Harry Potter blanket scarf.

Here it is. Finally.

Puppy!

I love the scarf, and the shawl is gorgeous. I've been thinking about making it sometime anyway, and your version has just about convinced me.

BTW, to answer your question, dyeing with Wilton is just about exactly like Kool-Aid dyeing! The only difference is that you need to add vinegar to the solution, and you have to stir a heck of a lot more to get the gel to dissolve evenly.

Wow, I have that book and I've never noticed this shawl before. Now I'm off to see if I have enough yarn. Thank you. Yours is beautiful!

How is it going switching to continental? I have tried and tried, but I am so even when I throw and the stitches are almost always to gauge. When I tried the continental, it was wonky beyond words. Please keep us posted. I'm wishing you loads of luck. Your pup is adorable.

AHHH! What a cutie! Those puppy eyes just steal your heart away. :)
Love the shawl, which, I might add, is gorgeous! Also, couldn't find your email address, but wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog for a visit. By the way, those buttons were purchased from a button shop in San Francisco about 15 years ago. Got them to put on one of my husband's jackets and never got around to it. I thought they were perfect for the vest. Please come back and visit me again. Elizabeth @ http://www.k1p1k2tog.typepad.com/my_favorite_things

Oh, cute pup. I have a special place in my heart for bassets, had a good relationship with one as a little kid. I love long, close to the groung doggies. And those ears!

Mandy is so adorable! I have had the pleasure of having 2 Basset's in my time. One was a lemon and white, and the other a tri-color. They are very sweet dogs and Mandy makes me miss Zachary and Daphne.

Love your pie shawl too!

The shawl looks even more beautiful than ever! I've it on my to-do list, bought angora (of all things) for it, found that it shreds like crazy and so this shawl is still without it's yarn. Did you edge yours with Koigu?
